'Absolute Perfection' Environment, beautiful. Friendly atmosphere. A very professional host who cares for his guests' comfort, who is very well informed regarding local customs and places of interest, and an inteligent and lively, conversationalist. Kind and patient, and willing to be of assistance. The gite, was spotlessly clean and welcoming in every way, down to the vase of flowers on the dining table.

Will I return? Just try to stop me!

'Stunning' We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this charming and peaceful Gite in Siant-Dizier. The limousin region itself is blessed with breathtaking scenery and wonderful lakes to bathe, swim, boat and fish. The lake in Gueret nearby is a must visit!

Pierre, was a perfect host who gave ample information about amenities and recommendations about activities to do nearby. Definitely recommended!

'Dit blijft een aanrader!' 'This is the perfect place to escape a busy life. Instead of going on and on and always working or being busy.

This house, the village and all the nature around it is the place to spend real time with your loved ones, enjoy the sounds of nature, cooking with local products and drinking local wine.

It's like stepping back in time in a very agreeable way provided the 'necessary' luxuries. This house gave me the real country side feeling.

Sitting outside grilling some food with just the sounds of the wind, the birds and the crickets.

There is a beautiful lake within walking distance with plenty of places to picnic. If you all ready have some food you don't 'need' a car anymore.

By car you are in store within 10 minutes. Slightly further afield is also large lake with a beach where you can swim and children are easily entertained for an entire day.

'A great place to enjoy your holiday' The gite is in pastoral farmland close to Limousin National Parks especially the Chabriers Forest; Limoges (famous for its pottery); Aubusson (famous for tapestry); 1000 hectares of lake water at Vassiviere, The 12th century medieval town of Bourganeuf is just up the road. The gite is spacious for the two of us and has the bedroom window opening to Limousin cows on near by land. Pierre, spoke many languages fluently and his master of English was impeccable. His manner was appealing and very friendly and I enjoyed talking with him intellectually on many subjects. The supermarket in Bourganeuf provided a varied choice of exceptional food and the excellent Bordeaux wine was soooo cheap. I was delighted with the holiday and found it wonderful value for money

'Beautiful location'  A quaint traditional french gite which offers additional rooms and a modern shower room upstairs. Set within a rural community and close to the village of St Dizier. Pierre the owner occupies a nearby property within the grounds and was very friendly and helpful with information on good places to visit, good restaurants and areas to shop. I would highly recommend the location. It was both peaceful and beautiful. There are many beautiful places to walk and drive close by. August 2015

'Great Place' It was a great place to stay. A little far from shops or nearest town but very relaxing area. The host Peter is a great man, very helpful and extremely friendly. Perfect for an escape with children. August 2015

'Gem of Saint Dizier' We loved this holiday home to set up as a base, it had all you needed, it was really comfortable and also newly refurbished upstairs.Pete was really helpful and gave us pointers on local shops and places to visit. We loved the Wolf Sanctuary close by and the butchers quarter in Limoges with all the old buildings. Saint Dizier is a very pretty village, Borguaneuf the nearest town was our favourite place with the castle and quaint square and shops. Gueret 30 mins up the road was also nice with a great selection of shops and restaurants. The surrounding area of Saint Dizier is very beautiful with the forests and the rivers. I tried hard to learn some French before heading out to France and the locals are really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Les Granges as a base to discover this beautiful country. "Fantastic" July 2015. We are just home from 11 nights at Les Granges. Myself and 2 children were warmly greeted by Pierre who was friendly and really made our holiday comfortable. The gite was spacious and very clean with all we needed for our stay. The village was a short walk away and there was a local shop which sold fresh fruit and bread and other groceries. The villagers themselves were very friendly and didn't seem to mind that us Scots had no French language. We visited local attractions daily and the sunny weather, warm until late afternoon, made us feel relaxed and healthy. I would highly recommend Les Granges for a safe, relaxing and wonderful holiday.

"Great holiday home" We rented the gite in August 2014, all 8 of us! (2 adults,6 children)
The gite has rustic charm and ample space for all of us!
The owner Pete, is only to happy to help in any queries you might have and was such a warm, kind host.
St Dizier is a delightful village and we would highly recommend it for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily living!

We camped in their garden through and had the best time. Pierre was so accommodating, getting us anything we needed, helping us set up a barbecue, and we had fun just getting to know him and talking about our experiences and the world with him. We were having an awful time in France before we met Pierre and he really turned our whole experience around. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to spend your French vacation then you should definitely contact this place, they won't make you regret a second of it.

We loved every minute we spent at their property and honestly didn't want to leave when the time came to move on. We wished we could've stayed a week with how wonderful they were to us. I hope that later in life we can make our way back through Saint-Dizier-Leyrenne so that we can stay here again. I don't know how to express in words how hospitable and amazing this place is; I want to tell everyone I know about this place and how everyone should stay here. For the prices, location, and hospitality you honestly won't find a better place to stay anywhere.

Thanks again, Pierre. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to meet again later in life. This has reaffirmed our belief in the hospitality of strangers!
